Temple are said to have been built in 1596 by Puran Mal, the ancestor of the Maharaja of Giddaur. However, the name of the builder of the temple is not known.
Baba Baidyanath Temple Timings
The temple door opens at 4:00 in the morning and remains open till 3:30. After which the doors are closed. The gates are opened again for the devotees at 6:00 pm and are closed at 9:00 pm. However, during any special occasion, the temple remains open even after the closing hours.

There are many rules for pilgrims in the month of Shravan. All the pilgrims coming in the month of Shravan must follow certain rules.

- Accuracy of speech and thought
- Alcohol and smoking should be avoided.
- Avoid using oils, soaps, shoes and leather items.
- Avoid planting Kanwar on the ground.

Importance of Baidyanath Nagri Deoghar
Baidyanath Nagri Deoghar is an important Hindu pilgrimage site. It is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas and one of the 51 Shaktipeeths, and is famous for the fair of Shravan, the fourth month according to the Hindu calendar system. It is one of the few places in India where Jyotirlinga and Shaktipeeth are situated next to each other.
